Event Branding

Every year ACL Services Ltd. puts on a Sales Conference for the channel partners, sales and marketing staff. The themes vary from year to year but the main objective is to provide guidance on the road map, demo new products or features and generally to motivate everyone and give them the tools to deliver even better results during the upcoming fiscal year.

The theme was already picked, but this project landed on my desk needing work on the visual branding. The theme was ACHIEVE, which on its own is meant to inspire but in this case it was also an acronym for all the seven categories that would be covered during the conference.

We had already exhausted the athletic and Olympic themes the previous years as Vancouver was preparing for the 2010 Winter Olympics. It was time to come up with something different. Plus, I had recently learned a new technique in Photoshop (VIEW DEMO) that I wanted to try out; creating pictures out of words.

My first stop was at www.istock.com where I purchased 7 photos of professional looking people, jumping in mid air and dancing with excitement. The colors and styles did not have to match, but they all needed to be on a white background to make it easier to work with. Each photo was assigned to a letter from the theme and text relating to that segment was used to create the fills.

The end product was used in presentations, signage, opening video and a calendar. You can view some of the imagery from the gallery link on the left.
