The simple answer is yes. No one is born with business experience. We all have to start somewhere. Right?
When I started in 2013, I had no business skills or business experience. I was great at my corporate job delivering creative and marketing solutions but I had no idea how to build my own business.
First I had a big vision of having my own shoe and fashion company. Then I wanted to build a complex online search engine and app.
Looking back, I now believe my ideas were so big and complex because:
- I was in love with the idea of having a business but was not aware of the time and effort it would take to build one
- I was deliberately choosing complex ideas that would be hard to implement so I can have an excuse as to why they cannot be accomplished
I only achieved the success I have now after I got clear on what I want and why I want it and focused on what I was good at already.
The market spoke to me.
First it was friends and former colleagues who reached out to me asking for marketing and design projects that I was already good at. That’s how my services business started.
Then after working with clients one on one, some people started to comment on how good I was at training and explaining concepts. I never in a million years dreamed about being an author, speaker or trainer.
When I started to think of what value I can deliver to the market place and what gaps I can fill in, my path became much easier. New clients and business opportunities started to fall into my lap.
None of my income sources have anything to do with the fashion or shoe industry that I was stuck on for years, but they opened the door to the lifestyle business setup that I now cherish and enjoy.
I want the same for you.
Here’s how I can help you:
